Congratulations to all of our Athletes and Teams of the Week!
Second-year defender Mary Britton contributed offensively with an assist on one of the two goals scored by the Trojans through two weekend games. Britton gave 100% effort in both games and in the final minute against Medicine Hat, she was very close to scoring with a free-kick tipped over the crossbar by the opponent's keeper. Britton is admired by her teammates and considered a rock for the team, as she is calm, cool and collected at all times. The 5'1" defender from Calgary is taking the Legal Assistant program at SAIT Polytechnic.

Jessica Brilz, a 5'1" defender, was on the field for the entire two games over the weekend against Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. She is one of the hardest workers on the team in practice and in games. On the weekend, Brilz displayed her defensive abilities when up against one of the Kodiak's top offensive players. She easily demonstrated the three pillars of a Trojan -- courage, determination, and spirit. Brilz, in her first season, signed on to play goal and was quickly transformed into outside defence. She is from Calgary and is taking Academic Upgrading at SAIT Polytechnic.

The Trojan women's soccer team lost its game against Medicine Hat (1-0) and won against Lethbridge (2-0) on the weekend. With a slow start in the first game of the season against Medicine Hat, the team persevered and was able to finish only down one goal. The following day, the Trojans were up against Lethbridge. Through teamwork and dedication the women's soccer team defeated the Kodiaks, winning the game 2-0.
