Every season the SAIT Sport Services Department hires SAIT students as part-time employees to work as minor officials at the Trojans Home games or at intramural events. Please see the below list of available job openings.

A general meeting is held every year in early September for students to apply for the positions. Please watch this website, the Weal (on-campus newspaper) and posters for the next meeting date to be announced. You may also contact the main office for more information.
Works closely with Cory in organizing the set-up, take-down, and game promotions. You will run all of the promotions and contests throughout the game. The candidate for this position must be dedicated, responsible, and able to speak on a cordless microphone in public. You will also meet, greet & seat adopt-a-teams; take the team to meet the Trojans after the game, and help the ticket taker throughout the night. This position changes with each sport and you will be responsible to ensure the smooth operation of the game. A strong commitment to your position and to the SAIT Trojans is a must, and will ensure professional game operations for all our sporting events.
This position is just required during the ACAC Soccer season, which runs September and October. You will be asked to set up and take down for every soccer home game on The Martin Cohos Common Field. This entails bringing out team chairs, scorers table, tent, garbage cans and scoreboard. Set up all the accessories, and then pack everything up and bring into storage at the conclusion of the game(s). During the game there will be a ball person behind each net to track down arrant shots. At the conclusion of the soccer season you will also have the opportunity to work with any of our full season sports as well.
This position is the VOICE of the Trojans, which plays a very important role during our game operations. You will introduce teams, announce the score, promote and explain events, and thank sponsors. You will also have the opportunity to add your creative input into the game day scripts. A strong microphone presence is essential and there will be auditions for these positions. Any candidate must understand that you must be willing to work every game of the sport you are chosen for (with exceptions).
The mainstay of this position will be running the 30 second clock throughout the women's and men's basketball games. You will also help with the set up and take down of the ticket booth and game entrance areas before and after the event. You must also help in ensuring that the names on the score clock are correct and in place 1/2 hour before game time.
This position requires the person to sit at the basketball scorers table and track all rebounds and assists on the stats sheet through out the women's and men's games. This position requires the person to sit at the volleyball scorers table and record statistics accurately according to ACAC guidelines. You will be required to hold and collect volleyballs when they are not in play, and throw balls to the ready server. This method helps speed up the game. You are the "face of athletics" - because the public deals with you first, you have a very important job. You must be friendly, smile, promote special events, and be enthusiastic. You sell tickets at the ticket booth, set-up curtained tables and displays, handle all promotions/draw boxes, fill out summary sheets for attendance and any other duties as required.

You take tickets at the game entrances to the arena or gymnasium, set-up curtained tables and displays, help handle all promotions/draw boxes and any other duties as required.
During Men's Hockey games fans are allowed to consume beer and coolers in the stands from Rocky's Lounge (located just across from the arena). This person is asked to help in the set-up and take down of Rocky's lounge, rearranging tables, hanging signage and assisting Rocky. During intermission you will be attending an arena entrance directly across from the lounge. This entrance is strictly for patrons of the lounge; they are still required to show you their ticket upon re-entry and must have their beverage in a plastic cup. Patrons of the lounge are also not allowed to "cruise" the halls with the beverage, it is either in the lounge or in the arena, and this is your responsibility to police the patrons (within reason).
You will be responsible for opening and closing the penalty box door as required throughout the men's or women's game, replace pucks shot over the boards, and help scorekeepers/clock worker with any problems. You will also help with the set up and take down of the ticket booth and game entrance areas before and after the event. Being able to skate is an asset.
The Goal Judge in hockey is responsible for "flicking" on the red light when a puck crosses the goal line. They are also required to keep a tally of the shots taken on the net they are working. During intermission you may also be in charge of moving the nets around for the rink attendant on the Zamboni, being able to skate is an asset. You will also help with the set up and take down of the ticket booth and game entrance areas before and after the event.
Handle all paperwork - fill out according to ACAC rules and work with the liaison to make sure results are faxed and phoned in to the appropriate places.
Must be lively, energetic, good with kids, enthusiastic, and physically fit. You will be required to go through a training session and video seminar.
Videotape home games. You may be required to tape an exhibition game and sit down with the coaches afterwards to discuss any adjustments. This position is hired through a team by team basis. If you are interested we will pass your name onto a head coach interested in having their games taped.
