Since 1989, SAIT Athletics and Recreation has honoured those athletes and builders who have significantly contributed to SAIT's athletics programs. SAIT Sport Services is seeking nominations for the next Wall of Distinction inductees. To nominate someone, please click here to fill out the nomination form. Nominations each year will be accepted by January 1.

Individuals who receive the honour will have worked to enhance the success of the SAIT Trojans, have been instrumental in the development of the Trojans and/or advanced the Trojans' prestige in one of the following capacities:

As an Athlete

  1. The athlete must have attended SAIT and, unless there are exceptional circumstances, graduated from the institution.
  2. The athlete must have conducted him/her self in an acceptable manner, both on and off the court/ice/field, and be an example of sportsmanship, honesty and integrity.
  3. The athlete must have attained an outstanding performance/achievement at the intercollegiate level - Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) award or Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) status in his/her sport, such as MVP, All Star, top scorer, record holder etc.

PLEASE NOTE: Athletes shall not be nominated while still actively participating. They must be removed from intercollegiate competition for a minimum of one year.

As a Builder

  1. The builder must have made a major contribution to SAIT's athletic program over a significant period of time as an administrator, coach, manager, trainer, minor official, or volunteer.
  2. The builder must have contributed to the development of the athletic program or a particular sport as well as the attainment of an ACAC or CCAA championship, coaching award, or winning record.
